Upon our return from Japan, the beauty of the early summer garden beckoned. So many colors, shades, qualities on display! Many changes had occurred in two weeks time. Some subtle, others blatant.
One of the biggest changes was the bursting glory of frogs in our water catchment pool. So fun to see them hopping about and enjoying the sun while perched on a floating leaf!
So far, the garden is growing beautifully and we are looking forward to a good harvest. That means our creativity will be stimulated and there will be wonderful Sugi Garden Kitchen products for you!
Inspiration is always found in the garden. Unique flavors for vinegars, fresh ideas for classes and new opportunities to share it all with you! This year we have a gorgeous Thai pepper plant that looks like it will be giving us an abundant harvest. So keep your eyes open for a new vinegar using Thai flavors!
Ice Cream Club
Here’s the idea. Become a member of the Sugi Garden Kitchen Ice Cream Club for six months of incredibly delicious ice cream – two flavors (one pint each) a month! Your commitment is $24 a month (or $144 one time payment) and a monthly pick up of your ice cream.
Amy’s part is to make a variety of interesting and familiar flavors to keep you enjoying throughout. This way of selling ice cream will allow me to be creative and include some flavors that I can’t normally offer – like Buttermilk Caramel Pecan, Buttermilk Almond Crunch, Mulberry, and others.
Now is the time to sign up for our new six month membership for two pints of delectable ice cream flavors each month. Sign up before June 30 for ice cream heaven starting in July!

This summer is going to be filled with food fun. Saturday, July 6 Amy will be doing a Savory Tasting at Harvest House (2395 Monument Blvd., Concord) from 11:00am -2:00pm. She will be bringing samples of Sun-dried Tomato Basil Pesto, Garlic Balsamic Vinegar, Basil Lime Vinegar and Balsamic Garlic. Drop by and pick up something savory to use at the next BBQ or garden party!
Sushi and Chirashi Class
Later in the month on July 28 (9:00am – 1:00pm, $80), Yoél and Amy will be showing you how to make your own sushi rolls and chirashi bowls. It’s a fun and simple process to make these Japanese dishes. Soon, you’ll be rolling like a pro! And, of course, we’ll be eating our rolls as we make them.
